Preventative Maintenance

Develop structured, risk-based maintenance and calibration programmes that improve equipment reliability, minimise unplanned downtime and ensure critical systems continue to operate safely, accurately and within their intended operating parameters.

What this service includes

  • Equipment & Asset Registers – Develop comprehensive registers of production equipment, utilities, instruments and critical facility systems, including identification, location and maintenance requirements.
  • Equipment Criticality Assessment – Assess equipment and systems according to their potential impact on product quality, production, safety and regulatory compliance to determine appropriate maintenance priorities.
  • Preventative Maintenance Programmes – Establish risk-based inspection, servicing and preventative maintenance schedules based on equipment criticality, manufacturer recommendations and operational requirements.
  • Calibration Programmes – Identify instruments requiring calibration and establish appropriate calibration frequencies, tolerances, acceptance criteria and record-keeping requirements.
  • Maintenance Procedures & Documentation – Develop SOPs, work instructions, maintenance schedules, logbooks and service records to provide clear execution requirements and complete traceability.
  • Service & Maintenance Planning – Coordinate internal maintenance activities and external service providers to ensure critical equipment is maintained without unnecessary disruption to production.
  • Maintenance Performance & Review – Monitor equipment failures, recurring faults, overdue maintenance and calibration activities to identify trends and improve equipment reliability over time.

Protecting critical systems before they fail

In controlled cultivation and processing facilities, equipment failure can affect far more than productivity. Failure of HVAC, irrigation, environmental monitoring, water treatment, processing or other critical systems can impact crop performance, product quality and regulatory compliance. Our approach prioritises equipment according to operational and quality risk, allowing maintenance and calibration resources to be focused where they matter most. By combining preventative maintenance, calibration, documentation and ongoing performance review, facilities can reduce unexpected failures, extend equipment life and maintain greater control over critical production systems.
